1. How many locker openings are required. Determine the number of people that need a locker. Single- and three-wide models are available. Some manufacturers offer a starter and add-on style of locker. Also, consider the amount of space available for installation.
2. Locker opening size needed. Consider what will be stored in the lockers. 1-tier through 6-tier offer a variety of overall opening dimensions for storage space. A 1-tier locker may be used for full-length uniforms and coats; a 6-tier may be used to secure purses and lunch boxes.
3. Style of locker. Once the size needed is determined the other factors may influence your decision. Do the lockers need to be ventilated for visibility or air circulation? (Ventilated Lockers) Is corrosion-resistance needed? (Plastic or Galvanized Lockers) Various handles are available in some styles, most offer the ability to use your own padlock, but a mounted combination lock, or keyed lock may be preferred.
4. Installation. Lockers are available as unassembled, set-up and all-welded. Time and ease of installation may determine what is best for you.
